My studio has been doubled in size and it has given me so much more space to move around. This has made a huge difference for shoots like newborn and Cake Smash as they require several set up throughout the session. I can now have two separate set ups ready to go. We have incorporated a changing area too for my Maternity and Fine Art clients to change behind. I have usb charger points for clients too as well as the baby changing unit, bottle warmers, tea, coffee and drinks area and comfortable seating too. My props are easy to view and access too so clients can see what is on offer. Parking is directly outside the door which is perfect for disabled access too.
I have a NEW SESSION available called 'Back To School' . This is a wonderful way to capture the 'Back to School' milestone, whether it is for their first day at school, or the first day in a new form. Each edit is personalised to make is super special and memorable.
Feels like old news now, but back in April this year, 2018, I was thrilled to achive my Qualified Status with The Guild of Professional Photographers.
Over the last year I have been entering The Guild's Monthly Photography Competitions and I’ve achieved Bronzes and Silvers so I decided to go for it and submit 21 images for review by a panel of senior photographers. Nerve wracking to say the least, but I am so delighted to say that I passed and am now Qualified with letters after my name. !
In addition to the submission of images, I also needed to provide a written brief on each image to explain the set-up, lighting and poses for each image. As my panel was made up Fine Art Dog Photography I also covered some of the useful tips for achieving the results I was looking for.
I absolutely love photographing dogs, they are not in our lives long enough so portraits like this become so much more precious in time.
I have attached my panel for you all to view.
Thank you to all these beautiful dogs for being such wonderful models. xx
We are currently looking to extend the studio in September this year which will give me more room to work in and the option of photographing larger family groups.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Bea and Rebel both trained by Kathleen, certified Trick Dog Instructor from Fun Trick Dog Training www.trick-dog-training.co.uk. We had fun capturing the various the tricks each dog could do.. here are a few...

After some careful consideration I have decided to extend my portfolio to include Pet Sessions, after all, they are as much a part of the family as we are. I have created an All Inclusive Package which means you get the session and some images for one set price. Depending on interest I may extend the options, but always feel free to ask if you message or call. I am very flexible.
Cake Smash is certainly messy and sticky fun, so I have now included, FREE of charge, a little bubble bath at the end to help get little one cleaned up for home time and to give us another 'pop' at getting some super cute photos.
If you are looking for something a bit different, a Bespoke Photograph may be for you. These images take a great deal more editing to get that unique finish and magical quality. You will find examples in with the Fairy and Angel Gallery. Have you seen something out there on Pintrest, or on another photography based website and would love 'that look'? If so, let me know. Simply email me an example, and let's see if I can do that for you. I am open to ideas and suggests and I have lots of ideas too. We can work together to create a Masterpiece just for you.
Portrait photography portrays who we are, how we see ourselves or how we are seen. They can be honest images, maybe for a business portfolio or profile, or more creative and whimsical.... What would you like to do?
I am always open to ideas, suggestions, and challenges... if you have something in mind, bounce it off me. I can offer everything from the classic portrait sessions with the ‘studio’ shot, usually shot on a seamless backdrop with and without props, or we can create something entirely different, using real or digital props, indoors in the studio or outdoors in the elements... let the fun begin...
When a client books in with me I always encourage them to take at look on my website, Pinterest and the internet in general so they can let me know what kinds of photographs they absolutely love so I can tailor their photo shoot to best suit their tastes. This client loved a flower garland photograph she had seen on the internet... so that's what we did.. .
We had some extra special Cake Smash fun today with a Super Hero based Cake Smash. This one was a Hulk Smash. I drew the New York skyline onto the backdrop to set the scene.
A little sneak peek from this years Xmas Mini Shoots. I tried to keep props fairly simple this year. I have a mini wooden sleigh, a white crate, some giant fur cones, a stick tree and lots of Santa's hats of course. For the babies I have a lovely 'Santa' tub, great for popping them in and perfect to tuck up next to big brother or sister.
My aim is to create beautiful photographs during your Newborn Session that you will treasure forever. To do this I always invite parents to bring along any special items to the shoot. They are often items like a beautiful blanket that Nanny has crocheted, or an old teddy which was once Mummy's favourite. Sometimes the items can be larger, like this stunning 'toy' car that Mummy and Daddy bought for his nursery. These extra special elements make the Newborn Session unique and personal to that family.
As a Newborn Photographer it is important to always be producing new and creative images. One of the ways I do this is by introducing new props. My latest prop is an absolutely adorable hand made 'hot air balloon' . This prop is so versatile as it is a perfect for little boys or girls as I've used neutral colours and looks fabulous with any number of different coloured backdrops. The hot air balloon can be personalised with that crocheted blanket or hat knitted by Nanna, or with the beautiful soft toy gift too.
Images like this are called composite images. They are two images combined to make one. The comfort and safety of your tiny baby is my number one priority throughout the shoot. I would never put your baby into dangerous or uncomfortable positions for a photograph. I am aware that there are lots of 'positions' and props that are questionable when it comes to safety, I don't take any risks. To produce images like this your baby is initially photographed on the safety of a newborn posing beanbag, then that image is blended onto a 'digital prop' to achieve these results.
